Introduction to the new process of inter-process rust prevention for precision bearings

Rust prevention between processes, like bearings in the heat treatment workshop after pickling, cleaning, grinding and processing, there are many more processes. When the product is not produced in a stream, it is stored in an intermediate store after being processed in a sequence, so the bearing rings stored between processes must be protected against rust. The traditional method of rust prevention using anti-rust oil like anti-rust paint and its deficiencies in bearing inter-process rust prevention are generally used in the following ways: 1:

1. Dipping in the rust prevention tank

The bearing rings are dipped in 5% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate in aqueous solution, the effect of rust prevention is still good, but there are many rust prevention tanks and other equipment, taking up a lot of space, and management is not convenient.

 2. Dipping and coating with concentrated sodium nitrite solution

After cleaning the product, dip it into a solution containing 15%-20% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate, and then stack it up. Using this method its anti-rust period is short, generally only lasting 7-14 days, and in the rainy season, due to the wet weather, it can only last 2-3 days before having to be reprocessed, which costs labour and money.

3. Oiling

A rust-proof oil, similar to rust-proof paint, is applied as to the finished product. This method must be cleaned before performing the next process and is more troublesome.

Introduction of the new rust prevention process method

After working with relevant manufacturers, many years of production practice have shown that many improvements have been made to inter-process rust prevention, with the use of drenching and spraying being more effective. At the beginning of the trial on the anti-rust of the rollers, the semi-finished and finished products were rinsed once a day with sodium nitrite solution, and no rust was found after 3 months of sampling, and now the semi-finished products of the bearing rings are sprayed with the anti-rust, and the effect is the same. The rust prevention process is relatively simple and the method is as follows:

1. Purchase and construction of equipment

According to the number of semi-finished products stored, an intermediate store is established with a cement floor, and a walkway can be set up in the middle, about 1.5m, for the passage of the bearing ring trolley. At the end of the channel put a storage sodium nitrite aqueous solution pool, solution formula for 5%-10% sodium nitrite plus 0.6% sodium carbonate, and in the ground to do back to the ditch, and then the bearing rings will be stacked on both sides of the floor, each pile of bearing rings left between the 0.6m walkway. Can speak intermediate library design for 64m2 or so, its sodium nitrite aqueous solution pool for 1m3.

2. Process method

Every morning with sodium nitrite aqueous solution flushing once, water solution by the pump from the pool sucked out, through the rubber pipe to the rosette, like the shower spray rinse bearing rings. After rinsing, the water solution flows back to the pool from the return ditch, and at the end of the return ditch on the pool, a filter is made with fine wire mesh and gauze in order to textile dust and dirt flow into the pool. The intermediate reservoir should be kept clean. The solution in the pool is tested once every 2 days and replenished according to the test results. The replacement period of the solution in the pool is carried out according to different months, once every 2 weeks from April to September, and once a month from October to March of the following year.
